National sculpture symposium – site visit and photoshoot at Riverhill…

Since my last post on the topic, I’ve spent a lovely few hours one gloriously spring day exploring the site for the symposium at Riverhill near Sevenoaks. I’m new to site-based working but the method that seems to work for me is to start from a position of openness with as few pre-conceptions as possible and just see what draws me to it.

Despite finding a riot of wonderful floral colour, my attention was snagged by cool, shady places of transition from one space to another, as well as by colliding confusions of tree branches jutting up across the landscape. Here is a selection of my shots:
